The Nelson Blog-o-Rama

So, I kept thinking to myself, why does Alice keep buggin' me about the blog... and then I realized that my last post was in October. Ouch. It's not that there haven't been things going on, and it's not that I've been too busy, I think I just got a little lazy. So here it is in a nutshell... A brief update since our last post on the blog-o-rama.

Shortly before Cooper turned two, my dear sweet Pappy (that's my granddad for those of you that don't know) died after injuries he sustained in a Car Wreck. I went home for the funeral and spent some real quality time with the fam... It was great to be in Jackson, and we even managed to get all the sisters and cousin Amanda together for dinner at Keifer's. To the Right is a pic of Mom and Paps at the lighthouse when he came to visit us last year for my birthday. While I sure do miss him, I am grateful for his life and everything he has meant to all of us gran-chillun.

Cooper turned two and straight up acts like it... don't get me wrong, she's still the same adorable little munchkin, but suddenly she's got the occasional stubborn streak (don't know where that comes from).

We started potty training... which I know isn't necessarily good blog-o-rama material, but I have really found it mildly entertaining to watch Coop figuring out the ins and outs of potty time. Linda has not found this process to be amusing.

Halloween came and went and was pretty darn cute watching Coop-a-loop run around as a mix between Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street and her alter-ego princess self. In a classic rookie mistake, her father forgot the camera.

Thanksgiving was pretty cool, although we were really missing our families. Once again we celebrated with about 500 of our closest Kauai friends here at All Saints'. It was really amazing to see that wonderful event come together and so many people to experience a joyous gathering in the All Saints' Gym.

Linda and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary with a wonderful trip to the North Shore. We stayed at the St. Regis Hotel in Princeville and got upgrade after upgrade, which landed us in an ultra-swanky oceanfront room! What a place! I also ate a steak that was crazy expensive... I felt a little guilty about that, but it was really delicious. The beef was grown in Japan, fed beer, and massaged right up until... well, you know. Happy Anniversary to Me.

And finally, Christmas rolled around, complete with parish pageant at All Saints'. Cooper and her friend Zoe were two of the cutest sheep you have ever seen- especially when they started high fiving everyone in the nativity scene. I've got the video... maybe that should be the next post... hopefully it won't be three months from now. Sorry Alice.
